Community spirit was high when hundreds turned out to run the Yuleba Marathon Fun Run last weekend.

The HealthX team made the 5 hour journey west of Brisbane to take part in the charity event, which raised funds and awareness for the Help Kids Like Nick charity.

HealthX CEO Carollyne Palling said it was a fantastic community event for the team to be involved in and was proud to once again sponsor the marathon event for the fourth time.

“It was great to live and breathe our core value and capability of supporting regional and rural communities,” she said.

“We had a number of HealthX staff enter the running events, who thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and left with a truly memorable experience. We were proud to be a part of such a successful fundraiser and I’d like to commend all of the organisers involved for their efforts.”

Help Kids like Nick’s mission is to work to provide an enhanced quality of life for those diagnosed with Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome and their immediate family. It also aims to raise awareness and educate people about the disability.

It was founded in May 2012 by the extended family of Nicholas Blacket, to help his family and other families like his. The following year the Yuleba Marathon Fun Run was born.
