HealthX Group acquires RTO to support aged care workforce supply crisis: Shortfall of 200,000 full-time care workers predicted in Australia by 2050.

BRISBANE 1 MAY 2023: Australian health care employer HealthX Group Pty Ltd has acquired AMC Training & Consulting Pty Ltd (AMC), a registered training organisation (RTO) of 20 years, based in Victoria Point, Brisbane. HealthX Chief Executive Officer Simon Small said;

“The availability of fully qualified carers under the Pacific Australian Labour Mobility scheme is rapidly depleting. The addition of a training organisation makes it possible for us to address this issue with an element of control, underpinning our supply chain strategy through continuity of qualified aged care candidates, and in turn, reinforcing the value proposition to our client partners".

With the number of available qualified carers at an alarming low, and a shortfall of 200,000 full-time care workers predicted in Australia by 2050, high quality training solutions are of critical importance to help fill the gap. The ownership of a RTO makes it possible for HealthX to maintain better control over supply, training standards, processes and timelines.

When asked about the integration of AMC into HealthX, Mr. Small said, “We share the same ethos, AMC course materials are top class, and Director Anne Cockrenn has developed a strong culture and a unique team-centric approach to delivering training that makes classes highly engaging. All AMC trainers have come across to HealthX and are passionate about the importance of delivering quality training to maintain the best standards of care for Australian seniors.  We have a big year ahead, with a number of student cohorts coming from the Pacific under the PALM scheme, to be trained in Certificate III Individual Support and placed with our aged care client partners, in addition to a healthy pipeline of domestic students. The first cohort of HealthX PALM aged care students will be welcomed at the RTO on 11 May 2023.  These trainees have all been guaranteed placements in Australia.
