WHERE WOULD I ACTUALLY BE WORKING?
HealthX proudly partners with Australia’s leading hospitals, health services and aged care providers throughout regional and remote Australia. From beautiful coast lines to exciting outback communities, you will have full control over selecting the location and role that best suits your circumstances.
WHAT IS THE AVERAGE CONTRACT LENGTH?
The average HealthX STC contract length is 8 weeks in duration, however we have roles that vary in duration from 2 weeks to 6 months. Your HealthX consultant will work hard to find the best option to meet your needs.
WILL I NEED TO PAY FOR MY OWN ACCOMMODATION, TRAVEL AND MEALS?
In almost all cases your accommodation and travel to your contract will be booked and covered at no charge to you. This can vary on where you are coming from and the contract length. Meals are generally at your own expense. Your HealthX consultant will let you know what will be covered before you accept a role.

Once you have registered with HealthX click here to register, your dedicated HealthX consultant will update you on the available roles best suited to your specific needs and clinical skill-set. You’ll get full say over which roles you choose to apply for.
If you’re successful in your application, your HealthX consultant will help you through the next steps – preparing to start your new contract.
NB: Roles are filled quickly so It is very important to ensure your compliance and competencies are valid and up to date. Not sure? Your HealthX consultant can help you with this.
If we have all of your valid compliance documentation, the process can be very fast. Your HealthX consultant will update you regularly to ensure you are kept up to date at every stage.
It’ll be up to you where you want to work. We welcome nurses from across Australia, New Zealand (and other approved countries) to work with us. You’ll just need the required registrations and we’ll work hard to find you a suitable role that fits your needs with location and duration.

To join our team, you’ll need the following:
- You’ll need a minimum two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- Updated resume
- Current AHPRA registration
- Two clinical/managerial referees within the last 24 months
- A willingness to work in regional and remote Australia.
To give you a head start your HealthX consultant will advise you on what mandatory compliance documentation is required during the screening process.
There may be instances where it’s possible to bring your family or partner along, but this will reduce the amount of places suitable for you. Talk to your HealthX consultant about the options available.
Unfortunately, it’s generally not possible to bring pets along due to restrictions in place at staff accommodation.
One of the great things about a career in nursing is the flexibility it can provide. It’s generally possible to complete a HealthX short term contract without resigning from your role if you have some leave accrued.
NB: HealthX are unable to place you in a contract within the same HHS or LHD that you are currently employed in.
