About Us

Our Story

From Workforce Shortages to National Healthcare Solutions.

HealthX was founded in 2008 to address critical workforce shortages across regional and remote Australia. It was clear that the demand for healthcare professionals in these areas could not be met by the local workforce alone. We saw an opportunity to bridge the gap by connecting these communities with qualified international clinicians.

Drawing on our global healthcare and recruitment networks, we began sourcing, sponsoring and supporting skilled nurses and carers to work in Australian hospitals and aged care facilities. Our early success—and a 94% retention rate—confirmed what we believed from the start: with the right support, international clinicians can deliver lasting impact in even the most underserved communities.

The PALM Scheme and Aged Care Workforce Growth

In 2020, HealthX became an approved employer under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme for Aged Care. This program enables us to recruit reliable, long-term aged care workers from Pacific Island nations to support aged care providers across rural and remote Australia. To date, we’ve placed over 300 PALM workers into consistent, compassionate care roles where their presence is most needed.

To reinforce this growing workforce, HealthX acquired AMC Training & Consulting in 2023. As a registered training organisation, AMC delivers Certificate III and IV qualifications in individual support, ageing and disability, along with targeted micro-credentials. This acquisition has strengthened our ability to offer tailored workforce development programs and ensures a consistent pipeline of well-trained aged care workers across the sector.

Expanding Our National Impact

Over time, the success of our approach and our growing reputation as a trusted healthcare staffing employer led to our expansion—both in scope and geography.

Today, HealthX sources, sponsors, employs, and supports registered nurses, midwives, carers, allied health professionals, and general practitioners (GPs), who work in partnership with healthcare facilities across Australia to help stabilise services, maintain care quality, and improve long-term workforce sustainability.

We partner with state health departments, more than 250 regional hospitals and MPS facilities, and aged care providers nationwide. Through flexible staffing models—ranging from short-term relief to permanent placements—we currently support over 650 facilities across Australia.

Future-Focused Healthcare Recruitment

As our services continue to expand across professions and geographies, we remain focused on a single goal: delivering sustainable, ethical and high-quality healthcare staffing to the communities that need it most.
